Championing Sustainability : AIMS’ Commitment to Green Operations and Education

At Anekant Institute of Management Studies (AIMS), we are dedicated to high standards of hospitality and advocate environmentally sustainable academic operations. Our aim is to positively impact the communities in which we operate through energy-efficient practices and environmental education. In an effort to adopt environmentally conscious attitudes, we have established several measures with which we can preserve our natural resources and seek to prevent pollution.

Objectives

Involve, educate, and train all staff in environmental issues to instill a sense of environmental responsibility.
Assess environmental impact of all our activities and products, and seek to eliminate any that pose harm to the environment when economically and operationally practical.
Reduce waste going to the landfill by minimizing amount of waste produced, reusing materials when possible, and recycling other wastes.
Purchase and use environmentally responsible (recyclable, refurbished, etc.) products / material from environmentally responsible suppliers (i.e. suppliers who emphasize the need for renewable energy supplies).
Implement the following methods to improve energy usage:
- Upgrade Institute lighting to include occupancy sensors that ensure light is being utilized only when necessary.
- Use EnergyStar appliances as replacements or upgrades when needed.
Utilize low-flow aerators in sinks and showerheads as a means of conserving water.
Take measures to decrease harmful emissions.
Communicate our environmental policy to the public to promote their support.
Comply with environmental legislation, and strive to follow best practices.
Seek continuous advancement by monitoring progress and remaining proactive. The environmental policy and its objectives will be periodically reviewed.
